A recent, urgent complaint filed by Rohan Kumar K., President of the Mulbagal Civic Forum, addressed to top officials including Dr. M.R. Ravi IAS, the District Election Officer, Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Siddaramaiah, and Mulbagal MLA Sri Samruddhi Manjunath, sheds light on a matter of grave concern that strikes at the heart of our constitutional integrity.
The complaint highlights the alleged grievous misuse of constitutional reservation benefits by former MLA Kothur G. Manjunath. It’s a widely known fact that Mr. Manjunath was disqualified as an MLA due to the fraudulent acquisition and use of a false caste certificate. This act, if true, represents a clear subversion of the very constitutional provisions designed to uplift marginalized communities and ensure equitable opportunities for all.
What is deeply troubling, as articulated in the complaint, is the alleged prolonged inaction by concerned authorities, including the District Election Officer, the District Commissioner, and even our present MLA. Despite a Supreme Court rejection of his application and clear directions from the High Court for action, the administrative machinery has, according to the complaint, repeatedly failed to bring justice in this matter.
This situation sends a profoundly dangerous message: that individuals with influence might be able to circumvent legal processes and constitutional mandates without consequence. This perceived discriminatory handling of a clear case of alleged fraud by the very authorities entrusted with upholding the constitution and ensuring equal justice for all is simply unacceptable.
