MLA Kotthur G Manjunath Accused of Misusing Reservation Quota: Complaint Lodged by Mulabagilu Naagarikara Vedike Foundation
Mulbagal, Karnataka – In a significant development, the Mulabagilu Naagarikara Vedike Foundation has formally lodged a complaint against the current Kolar sitting MLA, Kotthur G Manjunath, for allegedly misusing the reservation quota provided for the SC and ST community in the Mulbagal constituency. This complaint follows a recent judgment by the Honourable Supreme Court of India, which dismissed the appeal made by the accused challenging the order against him in the Honourable High Court of Karnataka.
Details of the Complaint:
- Misuse of Reservation Quota: Kotthur G Manjunath has been accused of cheating the reservation quota meant for the SC and ST community in the Mulbagal constituency. This misuse of constitutional values intended for the betterment of the SC and ST community is a grave injustice.
- Judicial Miscarriage: The accused has been misusing the law by claiming that any action against him by citizens should not be taken due to pending cases in the Honourable Judiciary. However, the Honourable Supreme Court has now declared that his claim has no merits, and legal action should be taken against his malpractice in participating in elections with the Election Commission of India.
- Corruption and Malpractice: This matter has drawn the attention of the entire country as the accused has completely miscarried the judiciary by making false claims and promoting corruption. He has involved administrative officials in the criminal act of providing him with a faulty caste certificate, knowing that it is a criminal act. This act directly undermines the value of the constitution and democracy, raising doubts among citizens about the actions taken by the administration and legislation.
Request for Action:
- Constitutional Actions: The Foundation requests appropriate constitutional actions against the accused and the administrative officials involved in the misconduct of their provided constitutional administrative rights. This should be done through a patriotic and ethical investigation.
- Upholding Judicial Direction: The Foundation urges the authorities to uphold the direction provided by the judiciary. Any administrative official of any rank is responsible for taking action towards this direction, failing which it is considered contempt of court, irrespective of the rank of the official. Suo Moto action can also be taken in this matter.
The complaint highlights that a national-level press media published an article through an experienced editor, presenting the facts. The Foundation, as responsible citizens, requests immediate action against the person involved in misguiding the system and creating a pathway for corruption. The complaint emphasizes the potential impact on the next generation and the belief that money and influence can undermine constitutional values.
The Foundation also points out that a social audit or intelligence reports can justify the claims, revealing that huge black money has been circulated for the MLA election, with rumors of around 150 crores spent on a single election. Further social audits may uncover fraudulent revenue structures and government land acquisitions practiced by the Taluk Office, involving Taluk administrative officers in constitutional mismanagement and fraud.
The Foundation stresses the importance of protecting the constitution and its values, condemning the misuse of reservation facilities meant for the upliftment of the SC and ST community. The complaint warns that further delay in justice for the Mulbagal constituency may erode confidence in democracy and attract anti-national elements, promoting an agenda to destroy the unity and integrity bound by constitutional values.
Article 14 of the Constitution of India states that all people in India are equal before the law and are entitled to equal protection of the law. This means that everyone should be treated equally in similar circumstances, without discrimination based on factors like religion, caste, sex, race, or place of birth. The complaint underscores the importance of upholding these values to maintain the country’s democratic integrity.
